I love seeing sketchbooks of other artists. It's a personal thing. I mean, it's kind of like a diary. Not so much "today I did this this and this" but it's a somewhat daily record of experiences in drawing form. Sketchbooks aren't necessarily for others to look at. They are for yourself! They are there for you to do whatever you want in them for yourself, for practice, for enjoyment, for exploration!
I'm gonna share some pages from a few sketchbooks of mine that I've kept over the years. Honestly, I don't like a lot of the drawings in them. Some pages I really really like. But all the pages have helped me get to this point in my life! I took the required basic drawing classes that taught you how to draw still life set ups and figure drawing with charcoal, but I never took an actual illustration class. Drawing and practicing drawing things I like and things I don't like over 4 or 5 years has brought me to this point and this style that I draw. That's it!
I don't know how to add gallery slides to these blog posts, sooooo there are gonna be a lot of images on here! I might try to make a video on these sketchbooks and go into greater detail on the quality of the sketchbooks and maybe rate them, talk about paper, etc. Hope you enjoy taking a peek into my sketchbooks.
